Autonomous Cars

I wish that in the last few weeks, I had kicked off some sort of positive epiphany about autonomous cars. In reality, I am about in the same place I was before having access to this material. The science behind these cars is still out of my realm of understanding. I am unable to wrap my head about it. That is partly why autonomous makes me concerned. The other aspect being humans can die if something goes wrong. Autonomous in other aspects of life, such as computer programs, does not seem as concerning to me. I think the chances of human life being harmed are less with these other programs. I do have belief that in time, we will get to a point where autonomous cars will be safer, or safer enough for me to try one out. I loved the video about the potential of having fleets of cars for disabled individuals. This is a fantastic goal to have. In the meantime, we absolutely should invest funding and time into these projects. Who knows what other amazing things could come out of them, not just autonomous cars. Hopefully, as things progress, people like me will come to have a better understanding of how these programs work and our skepticism will decrease. I can see the good in it for all people and am excited to see how it progresses.
