Big Data: Privacy

This weeks topic has been a challenge. I find myself not being able to stick to one side of the coin. Consistently flipping between it is not a big deal and it could be a bigger deal. My grandpa taught me the basics of Windows 95, when I was five years old. I am now 30 and between work and college, I am using a laptop and phone everyday. I just accepted a new job and everything has been done online and through email. Even the fingerprinting I had done was taken electronically. None of these things bother me. However, my step-dad cringes about all of these things. Am I numb, or complicit, to everyday privacy issues? Or, do I really think my privacy levels are acceptable? I suppose that I have healthy trust in security measures, despite not having the knowledge about it. Maybe my feelings of acceptability are rooted in that faith. I believe little to no privacy in public places is acceptable. But moderate to high privacy in personal settings, should be readily available. I cannot pretend that I know what is best for everyone. Trying to find a middle ground, that makes everyone happy, would be very difficult. Customization per persons comfortability, seems like a good avenue to attempt.
